🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Share Frustration About Size Modifications Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has updated its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update. Social Media Backlash Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The company said the revised method more closely matches other platforms. The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Updates Previously, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Stories One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she explained. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
