The trio have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the previous year. Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings. Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year. The three contenders were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show. The champion will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December. The event will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT. The Football Star Age: 19 Sport: Football Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros. She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches. Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent. Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe. She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer. Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October. "To be named a finalist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans." The Darts Prodigy Age: 18 Sport: Darts Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history. He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final. His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown. He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time. At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record. "To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts." Perrin's Profile Age: 19 Sport: Cricket Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August. Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s. It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition. Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player. "I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
